We've been a club since 1917, right around WWI. Dogs and showing dogs have come a long way. It used to be a way to figure out the best dogs to breed to. But now it is so much more!
The San Joaquin Kennel Club offers not only conformation, but also Obedience and Rally trials, 4-6 month puppy competition, Junior Handler competition, CGC Certification, Public Education with pamphlets (English and Spanish) and coloring books, show tours, and other events like Barn Hunt, FastCat, eye and heart clinics, and micro chipping when available.
AKC events are free to spectators, with usually just a modest parking fee. A whole day can be spent here watching the dogs and handlers, buying special toys and accessories for your favorite dog at home, and eventually clapping for the very best dog of the day in the Best in Show ring.
